The Greek cosmetics company turns 10 and accelerates its international expansion
In 2026, the cosmetics companyBee Factor, based in Trikala, celebrates ten years of history, a milestone that coincides with an important development for the small local business. For a few weeks now, its products have been available on one of the largest e-shops in the world,Amazon. At the same time, the company’s products are entering shopping centres in the Middle East, the result of the presence ofBee Factor at related trade shows.
Undoubtedly, an important step for a small company that is still building its presence in Greece, with an e-shop that ships cosmetics all over the country and, since 2017, a physical store in Trikala.
According to Financial Report, the move into Amazon was planned in 2025, and in recent months the final arrangements were made for some of the company’s cosmetics to be listed on the online store founded by Jeff Bezos. In this context, Bee Factor products have already been available for a month and can be ordered by customers across the USA.

A market in full growth
Bee Factor was created to promote the power of herbs and of the bee community in skincare, as stated on its website. The company is headed by Aliki Makri, a civil engineer, and her husband Christos Kostarelos. As Ms Makri points out, Bee Factor did not start as a business plan; it started from a real need, as motherhood led her to look for meaningful solutions for her daughter.
« From the first baby beeswax ointment until today, every product is designed with one simple rule: it has to be something I would trust, my children would use and I would recommend without a second thought. Today, Bee Factor keeps evolving, combining natural active ingredients with a scientific approach and an international outlook», she says, with the company making products for the face, the body, children’s care and more.
The company’s products are available in the Czech market, and two trade agreements have also been signed with companies in the Middle East. The latest development is the opening to the Latin American market, as the first shipments of Bee Factor cosmetics were recently sent to Ecuador.
A market in full growth
The Greek cosmetics market is estimated at around 1.7 billion euros, according to data from the Greek cosmetics industry association (PSVAK). Worldwide, cosmetics are a highly promising field of business. According to Statista data for 2026, the global cosmetics market is approaching 700 billion dollars in turnover. Of this, face and skincare account for 204 billion dollars, while personal care products overall have a turnover of over 302 billion dollars.
The global trend is a shift away from chemicals toward plant-based cosmetics, so companies like Bee Factor, which combine ingredients from nature with a scientific approach, have room to grow.
